To mark International Women’s Day, Holly Lynch MP invites you to join Halifax Heritage Tours on a special guided walk to celebrate some of the incredible women who have contributed to the heritage of Halifax.

Explore their connection to Halifax, from the first female solo air balloonist, a master sculptor, diarists, property owners and trailblazing women MPs, to role models who shaped our local history, nurtured philanthropy, dedicated their working lives to service, promoted the wellbeing of residents and workers and those who advocated for women’s and civil rights. There is so much to share, we look forward to offering an insight into these amazing women to whom we owe so much.

Join us after the tour for a heritage exhibition and refreshments at the Rhythm & Brews café in the award-winning Old Courthouse, transformed from a redundant court to the home of Calderdale Music, a state of the art, dedicated music and performance space.

All funds raised are for the invaluable services provide by the Women’s Centre in Halifax.

  • Date: Saturday 9th March
  • Time: Four guide led groups of 15 attendees each, with two groups starting at 11:30am and two groups starting at 11:45am
