We are extending our free music sessions to February half term, meaning you can enjoy free music sessions up to Saturday 10th February.

5:45pm – 6:15pm

Drum Corps

 

Ages 11 – 19 Our Drum Corps ensemble offers learners American style field drumming, working on rudiments and drills with a focus on synchronisation and technique. This ensemble is suitable for pupils who already play drums of Grade 2 upwards and between the ages 11-19.  Rehearsals are on Mondays, 5.45-6.15pm, at our music centre at The Old Courthouse, Halifax.

Monday

6:15pm – 7:00pm

Samba Band

 

Age 7 and above including adults Samba Band gives you the opportunity to experience the infectious percussive rhythms of Brazil. Make some noise and feel the rhythm! No previous experience required. Suitable for all the family aged 7 and above (including adults).

Samba Band takes place on Monday evenings, 6.15pm-7pm at our music centre at The Old Courthouse, Halifax.

Wednesday

4:45pm – 5:30pm

Beginner Theory Class

 

Suitable all ages Beginner Theory Class is for those who would like to study music theory from Grades 1-3 to support their instrumental/musical journey and get exam ready! Suitable for all ages including adults, this class runs on Wednesdays 4.45pm-5.30pm at our music centre at The Old Courthouse, Halifax.

5:30pm – 6:15pm

Theory Class Grade 4 – 5 Suitable all ages Theory Class is for those who would like to study music theory at Grades 4 and 5 to support their instrumental/musical journey and get exam ready! Suitable for all ages including adults, this class runs on Wednesdays 5.30-6.15 at our music centre at The Old Courthouse, Halifax.

5:00pm – 5:30pm

Beginner Drums Y3 – Y6 pupils Beginner Drum Group is for those who would like to learn to play the drums in a group environment and prepare them to play in our Debut Rock Band. Suitable for all ages 7-11 this group runs 5-5.30pm at our music centre at The Old Courthouse, Halifax.
Thursday

5:15pm – 6:00pm

**NEW -Debut Ukes Ages 8 – 12 years Debut Ukes is for those who have had some experience of playing the ukulele and can play a C chord and an F chord, and would also like to play in a group environment. Suitable for all ages 8-12 this group runs on Thursdays from 5:15pm-6:00pm at our music centre at The Old Courthouse, Halifax.

5:30pm – 6:30pm

Debut Rock Y3 – Y6 pupils Debut Rock is an exciting ensemble for young, aspiring rock musicians to have the chance to experience either singing, playing electric guitar, bass guitar, keyboard or drums with little or no experience of playing an instrument. If your child is between the ages of 7-11 and would like to develop the skills needed to play in a band in a fun and sociable group environment, this is the ensemble for them!

Debut Rock takes place on Thursday evenings at The Old Courthouse from 5.30 until 6.30pm.

6:30pm – 7:00pm

Beginner Guitar Y3 – Y6 pupils Beginner Guitar Group is for those who would like to learn to play the guitar in a group environment and prepare them to play in our Debut Rock Band. Suitable for all ages 7-11 this group runs 6.30-7pm at our music centre at The Old Courthouse, Halifax.

10:15am – 11:00am

Debut Keys Y3 – Y6 pupils Debut Keys is for those who have had some experience of playing the keyboard/piano and reading music and would also like to play in a group environment. Suitable for all ages 7-11 this group runs on Saturdays from 10:15am -11am at our music centre at The Old Courthouse, Halifax.

Funk & Soul Band Age 11 – 19

 

Grade 3+

Funk and Soul Band Is an exciting ensemble for young aspiring band musicians who are of Grade 3 standard or above on their instrument. If your child would like to develop the skills needed to play in a Funk and Soul Band, playing a range of repertoire in a fun and sociable group environment, this is the ensemble for them!

Funk and Soul Band is suitable for ages 11-19 and takes place on Saturday mornings at our music centre at The Old Courthouse, Halifax, from 10.30-11.30am.

Beginner Strings Ages 7 – 11 Learn the basis of violin in a group setting. Pupils will learn how to hold a violin and play open strings with a bow. This will prepare pupils for Debut String ensemble. Suitable for all ages 7-11 this group runs Saturdays 11:15am – 11:45am our music centre at The Old Courthouse, Halifax.

11:45am – 12:30pm

Saturday Winds Children and young people

Grades 1 – 2

Our Saturday Winds ensemble offers learners who are of Grade 1 upwards on brass, woodwind or percussion instruments the opportunity to further develop their playing skills in a wind band setting.

Our skilled and experienced music leaders will guide your child the opportunity to apply the skills that they have learned in their instrumental lessons, or whole class ensemble lessons, in a much more bespoke environment. Your child will enjoy making friends, working as a team, exploring music, expressing themselves, and most importantly, having fun! Your child will truly be blown away!

Saturday Winds takes place on Saturdays from 11.45-12.30 at our music centre at The Old Courthouse, Halifax.

Debut Strings Children and young people Debut Strings is an exciting ensemble for young, aspiring string players who play open strings and hold a bow. If your child would like to develop the skills needed to play in a string ensemble in a fun and sociable group environment, this is the ensemble for them!

Debut Strings takes place on Saturdays from 11.45- 12.15 at our music centre at The Old Courthouse, Halifax.

11:50am – 12:50pm

Band Coaching Ages 10+ including adults Band coaching and tech sessions are an exciting opportunity for young bands. If your band would like to develop skills in performance, learn how to use sound and recording equipment and mic yourselves up for gigs, these are the sessions for you.

Band coaching/tech sessions are a half termly courses on Saturdays from 11.50-12.50pm at The Old Courthouse.

Saturday

12:15pm – 1:00pm

Saturday Strings Children and young people Saturday Strings is an exciting ensemble for more advanced young, aspiring string players who are of Grade 1 standard or above. If your child would like to develop the skills needed to play in a string ensemble at a higher level, in a fun and sociable group environment, this is the ensemble for them!

Saturday Strings takes place on Saturdays at 12.15-1pm at our music centre in The Old Courthouse, Halifax.
