Workshop with Yorkshire Wind Orchestra
Saturday 18^th November 2023, 1:30pm – 5:00pm at The Old Courthouse, Halifax

 

Calderdale Music are pleased to offer young woodwind and brass players an opportunity to play and perform with the Yorkshire Wind Orchestra.

The band will run a workshop for students, followed by a joint performance. The venue is Calderdale Music’s base at The Old Courthouse, Blackwall, Halifax Town Centre, HX1 2DL. The workshop is suitable for pupils grade 2 standard and above.

The Yorkshire Wind Orchestra (YWO) are a group of around 40 musicians of grade 8 standard from across Yorkshire who enjoy playing a wide range of music written or arranged for wind band. You can find out more about YWO on their website: https://www.yorkshirewinds.co.uk/

There is no charge to pupils for taking part in this workshop. To cover the band’s expenses, there will be a charge for tickets to watch the performance at the end. More details will be provided to parents of pupils who sign up to take part.

The Yorkshire Wind Orchestra will also be performing a separate concert of their own in the evening, if anyone would like to book tickets please visit their website.

Timings are as follows:
1pm – 1:30pm Registration
1:30pm – 4:15pm Workshop (with breaks)
4:15pm – 5pm Concert
