Andrew Whitton

Andrew began learning the piano at age 6 in County Durham. As he progressed through school he began to develop his musical abilities by learning the violin, viola, and flute, each helping him acquire a passion for performing Romantic and Impressionist music.

During GCSEs Andrew furthered his musical education by enrolling in the Young Musicians program at The Sage Gateshead. This provided opportunities to perform with a variety of ensembles such as Young Sinfonia and Quay Voices, cementing his passion for music.

Andrew went on to study Music at the University of Huddersfield where he developed his abilities in musicology and performance. He graduated in 2022 with a First Class honours and was awarded the Crabtree Prize for all-round achievement.

In 2023, Andrew completed a PGCE to foster his love of teaching and continues to develop his musical abilities through performing and research.
