Fotios Kalantzis

Fotios started his musical journey at the age of 13 when his mother first took him to a music lesson at the local music service in Oropos. He quickly fell in love with the drumming. During the following years of 1-2-1 lesson with his tutor, he developed his drumming skills which lead to an amazing journey of playing with bands both in the UK and the EU. He has performed with a variety of musicians, in styles such as jazz, rock, blues, shoegaze and church bands, through those tours and gigs he picked up the ability to play other instruments such as bass, guitar and piano.

His love for music also allowed him to follow a path in academia, which was a rare opportunity for a musician with dyslexia from a remote village in Greece. He came to England at the age of 16 where he studied music at Leicester College, completed his degree at BIMM university and lastly completed his PGCE at Manchester Metropolitan University.

With all the experiences and tools at Fotios is disposal, he is eager and excited to share the passion he has for music with all students at Calderdale Music and help them progress through their musical journey.
