Julia Brook

Being in love with both music and spreadsheets, the opportunity to join Calderdale Music in 2017 as a Finance Officer was like a dream come true!
Since then, Julia has worked her way up to Business Manager in 2020 and the current Deputy Director in 2023.

Julia was born in Huddersfield and has lived in West Yorkshire all her life. Her working life started in a small Insurance Brokerage dealing with personal lines insurance before progressing into the commercial sector. After taking a break in her career to take care of her two children, she trained as a childminder before accepting a position in the local primary school eventually becoming the School Business Manager.
Julia attended Huddersfield University part-time whilst working at the school to progress her career and gained a First-Class Honours Degree in Educational Management and Administration in 2015. This also sparked a particular interest in Leadership and Management theory.

Julia is happiest when singing, listening to pop music, out on long walks with her dog and partner or on relaxing holidays in the sun. She loves games and will take any opportunity to involve staff in team building events or a Task Master challenge.
