Laura started to learn the piano from the age of 6 and quickly advanced through the ABRSM exams and competed in local and regional festivals. She was involved in her school choir which sparked her love of singing. Laura then went on to study performance at Birmingham Conservatoire, graduating with a BMus (Hons) in 2001.
Laura has delivered music lessons and curriculum teaching in a wide variety of schools and has worked with pupils from all walks of life, alongside accompanying and directing choirs and leading singing workshops. In her development of primary school singing, Laura has taken junior choirs to sing at prestigious events, including London, Wembley and Paris.
Laura runs and accompanies the Melody Belles ladies choir who were runners up in Yorkshire’s Got Talent in 2019. She is also the director of the “Cube Choir” which has over 70 members. In 2017, Laura sang the lead soprano role in the folk opera “Calderland” at the Piece Hall.
With her passion for promoting the benefits of singing, Laura is now also studying part time for a Masters Degree in vocal pedagogy, specialising in Singing for Health.
