Calderdale Music are pleased to offer young woodwind and brass players an opportunity to play and perform with The Band Of The Yorkshire Regiment.
The band will run a workshop for students, followed by a joint performance. The venue is Calderdale Music’s base at The Old Courthouse, Blackwall, Halifax Town Centre, HX1 2DL. The workshop is suitable for pupils grade 4+ standard and above.
The Band of the Yorkshire Regiment is one of nineteen UK based Army Reserve Bands. You can find out more on their website. Search “Band Of The Yorkshire Regiment” on Google.
There is no charge to pupils for taking part in this workshop.
To keep the band even, there will be a limited number of places per instrument. Anyone who registers will receive an automated confirmation email from our website, and we will follow this up with an email to confirm if there are places still available on your instrument. The registration form will close at 31st January at 11pm, this is to allow the band a full week to plan the repertoire and allocate parts accordingly
Timings are as follows:
12:30pm – 1:00pm Registration
1:00pm – 2:00pm Full Rehearsal
2:00pm – 2:45pm Sectionals
2:45pm – 3:30pm Full Rehearsal
4:00pm – 4:20pm Concert

There is a vending machine on site that accepts coins.
The workshop will take place upstairs in our newly renovated performance space. This beautiful room was the largest courtroom back when the building was the Magistrate Court. There is a lift up to the first floor. If you are a wheelchair user, please contact us before booking your place to confirm your accessibility needs with a member of staff.
Parking is on street pay and display. You can pay with coins, or by downloading the Apcoa app on your phone and paying by card. Alternatively, there is High Street car park at the top of the road, near Halifax Playhouse.
