At Brighouse High, Calderdale Music provides a dynamic and wide-ranging programme of music education, supporting students to develop their skills, creativity, and confidence through both curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities. Our team of experienced tutors, Meg Broadley, Colleen Brown, Brendan Donegan, Matt Richardson, Laurie Moss, and Meiko Wakabayashi, deliver expert tuition across a variety of instruments and styles.
Students at Brighouse High can access individual, paired, or small-group lessons in flute, clarinet, saxophone, piano, singing, guitar, violin, and cello, taught by our skilled Calderdale Music tutors. To register for lessons, please visit the Instruments page and find the registration button for your chosen instrument.
In addition to instrumental lessons, our Music Leaders run a vibrant programme of ensembles and clubs within school, offering students the chance to enjoy making music together. These include Woodwind Club (Meg), After School Funk Band (Meg), Guitar Club (Brendan), Strings Club (Laurie), After School Keyboard Club (Meiko), and the After School Choir (Richard). Students interested in joining any of these ensembles should speak directly to their Head of Performing Arts for further information.
Through this broad offer, Calderdale Music is proud to work in partnership with Brighouse High to inspire and support young musicians, ensuring every student has the opportunity to take part in high-quality music-making.
